A cyber-crime organisation called FIN8 have improved their techniques to steal credit card information.
Research from cyber security firm Gigamon has uncovered FIN8’s new BADHATCH malware which infects a network via a more traditional phishing attack. Once on the system BADHATCH utilises its file transfer functionality, allowing FIN8 to further infect networks with other attacks and viruses, in order to steal consumers payment information.
The University of Oxford is subject to continuous compromises of users accounts by Phishing. This is an entirely normal part of life in the 21st Century. Everyone will be phished at some point in their time at the university.
